About the role:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced expediting manager with a strong expertise in Fabrication domain pertaining to industrial projects in any major process industry (primarily Medium and Heavy Structural Fabrication, Customised Fabrication of Equipments, Engineered Products etc. required by Industrial OEMs or EPCs).
As an expediting manager, you will be part of the central expediting managing team who in turn is responsible for the delivery of multiple expediting projects delivered anywhere in India. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring complete control over execution, managing on ground expeditors, meeting the timeline & quality requirements, and collaborating with client teams as well as vendor personnel to facilitate prompt and accurate ‘On Time Delivery’ of the projects. You will act as a key stakeholder for developing and maintaining a vibrant and productive working environment while leading a diverse team of talented professionals.
Location: Western India. This is a remote location based role but will require a substantial amount of travel as and when required.
An Ideal candidate
Years of experience: 12 - 15 years in expediting and project execution in OEMs or EPCs related to process industries/ sectors such as chemicals and Oil & Gas
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial engineering or a related field. Post graduation or MBA will be added advantage
Professional Experience: experience in large engineering / project / process / heavy engineering industry with an exposure to a Multinational environment. Must have handled or participated in project execution of medium/large size EPC projects of Chemicals/oil & gas/energy/Heavy engineering sectors.
Deep knowledge on intricacies of equipment manufacturing processes, lead time benchmarks and resource requirements, interdependencies involved from drawing to dispatch
First hand experience of managing execution at vendor workshops and installation/ commissioning at sites
Strong network of people across enterprises, EPC companies and in the manufacturing industry involved in Capex or big ticket projects like factory or plant set-up/expansion/MRO to source knowledge/ referrals
Ability to manage complex projects, work independently and handle multiple tasks
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Planning:
Perform meticulous study of all drawings and BOM to understand manufacturing processes, quality requirements and specification.
Understand manufacturing plan and validate for the completeness and accuracy
Identify long lead and critical items
Should Be Able to Analyze Preparatory, Welding and Fitment Quantum's
On Ground Expediting:
Technical point of contact with the customer and other internal & external stakeholders of the project.
Monitor and track all project stages—from raw material (RM) ordering to final dispatch.
Create and track daily/ weekly plan on the shopfloor and ensure the manufacturing progress is achieved as per plan
Identify risks/ potential failure points in achieving production and plan for mitigation
Work closely with internal teams, client teams and vendors to ensure timely completion of each stage.
Understand quality points from QAP and ensure adherence to the same during manufacturing stages
Raise timely alerts with reporting manager as well as client teams
Update the progress in the expediting digital solution (candidates are required to undergo hands on training for the same)
Identify and resolve issues related to machines, equipment, quality, processes, manpower or technical expertise.
Expectations:
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, rolling, bending machining, blasting, manual assembly, painting etc.
Hands-on experience of PowerBI and Data analysis using excel
Certifications like NDT level 2, IPMA are preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Willingness to travel to vendor locations as and when needed.
candidates with Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) OR ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor Certification will be preferred but not mandatory
